Why I Speak to Students
Hello, I'm Dr. Phillip McClendon. For more than sixty years, I have spoken with people about faith, character, leadership, purpose — and the decisions that shape our lives.
Over those years I've learned something important: some of the most consequential decisions we ever make are made in ordinary moments — when nobody is watching and nobody is applauding.
That is why I want to speak to students. Young people are making decisions today that will influence the direction of their lives tomorrow. They need encouragement — but they also need someone willing to challenge them to think seriously about character, responsibility, perseverance, and purpose.
My school presentations are designed to be practical, encouraging, and relevant to students. No hype, no pressure — just an honest conversation about who they are becoming and the choices that will get them there.
